Quarry ::: Photographic Montage Digital Drawings
Montage drawings made in situ in a disused Welsh stone quarry.
The open but intended rational, is that place is being both documented in the real, but also reconfigured compositionally as visual fiction.
The collective drawn mark making over digital photographic imagery, is intended to imbue the underlying layer with a sense of accentuated visual dynamism.
The digitally drawn mark making has an individual hallmark of drawing methodologies. This visual vocabulary has been adapted and reinterpreted to the digital from Guy Begbie’s analogue drawing techniques, developed over many years of interdisciplinary practice.
