One of a series of painterly books alluding to the abstracted filmic image. The memory of direct experiences of specific time and place has been used to create a series of books that present a collective layering of incident and the fleeting moment. In these works, calligraphic elements of drawing alluding to text resonate within painterly imagery, fixed as a sequence in the book form, but not necessarily as a linear narrative. As a distillation of experience, this work in a filmic frame by frame format and the other artists’ books in this series, aim to capture the fleeting moment, the equivalent of a visual haiku.
