These montage drawings have been made in-situ using a touch screen device while walking in gorges, caves and on mountains in Crete, Greece

Each initial drawing process begins with a methodology of photographing chosen locations from a variety of perspectives en-route along with additional minutiae/details of the landscape, such as fragments of geology and botanical specimens

The montaged drawings are intended to convey a sense of being physically immersed in the landscape in a peripatetic transit. The dynamism and fluidity of mark making over photographic imagery alludes to the physicality of climbing and moving through gorge spaces and up and down mountain-sides.

The linear aspects of the drawing processes could be regarded as making oblique intuitive reference to off-piste routes across mountainous rocky terrain while also mapping a calligraphic visual narrative and compositional connections between the photographic and the hand rendered image aspects of the drawings
