‘Redcliffe Effigies’:   (GB  Bristol, UK  2000)

The narrative focuses on the public environment and ambience of a historical city centre ecclesiastical building and its exterior statuary. A mapping process indicates journeys delineated with poured paint mediums onto fragments of plaster-cast 3D maps which have been scanned and reproduced on the page through screen printing

“Domestic Interior is an inventory of emptiness. Here is a house that has already been cleared. The only images are four rough plaster casts of switches and sockets – deathmasks of the inanimate. In place of the usual end-of-tenancy stockcheck of fixtures and fittings, Begbie’s list of contents attempts to hold on to the intangible – the distinctive whirring of a clock, or the way that shadows and sunlight played across a room”…….
